Review…
I’ve recently had the pleasure of reviewing the Five Little Monkeys Book App on my iPhone! Please read on . . .
Packaging & Presentation
I received the Promo Code for my iPhone, as I like to have special apps on my phone for my 2 year old in case he gets out of line somewhere. It always calms him down.
This app is very easy to find on your dashboard. It is called JumpOnBed, and looks like this:
Ease of Use
Here is the ‘Home Screen’ for the application. It has 5 buttons on it.
3 of them allow you to choose to have the book read to you (as you control turning the page, and pressing words.) You can read the book yourself (Ultimate Control), or you can click on AutoPlay (app does everything, and requires no user interaction.)
There are also 2 small buttons on the right side of the screen.
The ‘House’ Button brings you to a page where you can scroll through other Oceanhouse Media books, and lets you select to view it in the app store if you wish.
The ‘i’ button gives you easy directions on how to use the application.
Here is a feature that I like: You are able to ‘bookmark’ the page, so when you try to read it again, it asks you if you want to resume where you left off or start over.
When you select ‘Read to Me’, the words highlight in purple, so you can follow along.
Also, you can tap on the pictures, and it lets you learn new words!
Pros
- Great Illustrations
- Sound effects liven up the story!
- A tale we all know, in a new digital format!
- Many ways to explore, from auto-play to reading it yourself!
Summary
Five Little Monkeys is available on the App store and is on sale for $0.99. It is well worth it, as my son really enjoys this book. He sits for a long time exploring everything about it! Please check out the App, I’m sure your kids will really enjoy it!!
