My Review of the Energizer Inductive Charger
What is it exactly?
From the website . . .
“...We believe that a universal standard is the future of charging, and by leading the way with one of the first Qi products – the Energizer® Inductive Charger – we are meeting a clear need for a product that makes charging devices easier by eliminating cords and clutter," said Jim Olsen, Vice President of Marketing for Energizer North America. “This next generation charger is a natural extension of an innovative product portfolio that brings more freedom for people to live and to work using power that’s reliable and convenient...”
Review…
I’ve recently had the pleasure of reviewing the Energizer Inductive Charger! Please read on . . .
Packaging & Presentation
For review, I was sent the inductive charging station, AC power adapter, iPhone 4 Qi Sleeve, and the iPhone 3G Qi Sleeve.
The packages came bubble-wrapped for protection.
After opening the Inductive Charger box, you can see it was nicely presented with additional bubble wrapping around the Inductive Charger itself to provide additional protection during handling. You can also see the AC adapter placed in the box as well.
Both of the Qi Inductive Charging Sleeves were also bubble-wrapped inside of their prospective boxes.
Ease of Use
Using the Energizer Inductive Charger is really simple! You just plug it in, and place your phone anywhere on the surface of the charger! We placed ours on the kitchen counter, as we place our phones up there anyways. It makes perfect sense to charge them as they are sitting! Included in the box, was an informative, easy-to-follow charging guide to assist in the set-up process.
I easily just plugged the AC adapter into the Inductive Charger, and connected it to the wall socket.
To set up my iPhone 3G, I took it out of the box, and it comes in two separate pieces. I just slipped my phone in, and clicked it into place.
To set up my husband’s iPhone 4, we just slid his phone directly into the Qi sleeve.
As you can see in the picture, we just placed our phones onto the Inductive Charger, and the blue LED’s lit up, notifying us that our phones are actively charging. When the phones charging cycle is complete, the LED’s go off, and the Inductive Charger places itself in stand-by mode.
There is also a USB port on the upper right portion of the Inductive Charger, allowing for a third device that is not Qi enabled to be charged.
You can buy the Energizer Inductive Charger for $89.00! The Qi Sleeves are available for the iPhone 3G/3GS, iPhone 4, and BlackBerry Curve 8900 for $34.99. Many mass retailers are carrying the Energizer Inductive Charger, so be sure to pick one up today!!
Pros
- Simple to use
- No messy cords everywhere
- Can charge up to 3 devices at the same time!
- Universal- charge ANY device that is Qi-enabled
Summary
Qi technology is the new universal standard for inductive charging. Energizer combined this technology with the freedom of placing a phone anywhere on their charging pad for ease of use, and a mess-free, sleek look! The Energizer Inductive Charger is really handy, and I really like how it looks! I can place it anywhere, and it is very portable. At nighttime, we bring it upstairs so our phones can charge at night, and we place it on the countertop in the day!
