Packaging & Presentation of Adovia Sulfur Soap
Arriving in a normal-sized soap box, the Adovia Sulfur Soap presents itself as being for all skin types, and is based with sulfur and dead sea minerals.
Package front |
On the back, the box gives easy directives on how to use it. It lists the ingredients and gives company contact information.
Back of package |
Next, I opened it. It's packaged just like normal soap you buy from the store.
Opening the box |
...and I took it out for inspection. It's pretty dry, it is unscented. It is golden yellow, and marked with 'Adovia' on the bar itself.
My Personal Experience with Adovia Sulfur Soap
Considering I classify my skin as combination (oily t-zone, dry cheeks), I was looking forward to using this soap as the minerals and sulfur are supposed to balance and optimize my skin's natural moisture levels. No more combination skin while I use this? Sure thing, let's give it a whirl.
Before I use any type of soap, I spend some time getting a good lather going.
Next, I use it. I apply the lather all over my face, concentrating directly on my t-zone.
Application |
Pros of Adovia Sulfur Soap
- Easy to use-- lather, apply, rinse.
- Can be used on your body, too. One soap for everything.
- Not tested on animals.
- All natural ingredients.
Cons of Adovia Sulfur Soap
- The box says, 'For all skin types' whereas the directions say, 'This soap is specific for Acne prone, oily skin and is not recommended for dry or sensitive skin'. So...which one is it?
- This soap is $10.00 per bar. Although containing excellent ingredients, it is too high in my opinion.
- The problem with bar soap is that I find it hard to store without it getting soggy sitting in a soap dish.
Summary
Since I have combination skin, it didn't matter which 'skin type' I needed to be aware of. After using the soap, my skin was super soft and didn't pull tight like some soaps out there. I like the way it lathers, and I love that it is natural and not tested on animals. However, at $10 per bar I'd like if Adovia included a small plastic grate in order to store it without it getting soggy.
