My Review of Old Factory Candles
What is it exactly?

     From the website. . .
"Each gift pack comes with 3 fragrance-themed candles. Each of which burns clean for over 20 hours. The subtle jar design makes it the perfect complement for any decor, and any room of the house - kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, family room, great room, basement."

Review…

I was sent the 3 fragrance Fresh & Clean themed sent from Old Factory to review.

The price for each 3-piece set is $25.00.  Shipping is free with Amazon Prime.

Packaging & Presentation of Old Factory Candles

Packaging and shipping candles is very difficult.  I buy a lot of candles online, so I know that they are super fragile shipments.

They break easily, so the company needs to take extra, extra care to ensure their candles are making it to their customers in top notch.  Due to this reason, sometimes the presentation of the product is skewed, but effectiveness definitely surpasses visuals at any point.

I would definitely like to say that Old Factory Candles' packaging is amazing.  It is effective and attractive.

The box is 7.5" x 2.5" x 2".  The top of the box gives some information:  number and size of candles, the company name, and a description.

The front of the package describe more about the candles and say that they stay true-to-scent for 20 hours.  The back of the box has a clever slogan and provides the company's website.

The side of the package is also printed with content information.

When I opened the flip-top box, I was presented with a little slip that identifies the theme that I chose.   When I lifted up the sheet, the candles were held snug inside each of their slots.

I took the candles out, and each slot had something printed on the inside. The candles themselves were about an inch tall without the screw top lid.  They looked really nice and relaxing judging by the jar itself.

Each candle had a label on the bottom identifying the fragrance and the size.

My Personal Experience with Old Factory Candles

Since candles are one of my most favorite items in the world, I was ready to test these out as soon as they arrived.  There were 12 different themes to choose from, and it was so difficult to choose! I went with the fairly safe Fresh & Clean collection.  I like these scents because they can be used in any area of the house at any time of the year.

The first one I chose is called Olive Blossom.  This candle smells SO good!  It is highly scented, and smells somewhat floral-y with a hint of spice.  I burned this candle to check out its throw, and it wasn't as strong as I expected, but it did fill one room with a pleasant aroma.  This was my favorite candle of the three.

The next candle is called Lemongrass.  This candle smells really clean.  It doesn't smell as 'lemon-y' as I thought it would.  It smells like a mix of lemon rind and sweet vanilla.  The throw is not great, and the candle isn't super strong.  If you put this one in a small area, like a bathroom, it would be perfect.

The last candle in the set is called Fresh Linen.  This candle smells like a clean, sweet soap.  I'm kind of overdone on the whole cotton/crisp linen/soap smells, but sometimes they are good when you are expecting company.  Like the first candle, this one is quite strong, and the throw is more than a small area.  I'd probably burn this candle more during the day than the night.

I'd also like to mention that these soy candles burn super clean and evenly.  After burning them, they did not leave the typical soot around the glass rims. The candle did not pool, either.  It was a very, very pleasant experience.

Pros of Old Factory Candles
  • Each set contains three themed candles.
  • The candles are clean-burning and don't make a mess.
  • I personally think the jars are just adorable.
  • Quick and easy gift.  (As a candle-lover, I'd love this as a gift).
  • They come packaged very nicely.
  • 20 hour burn time, and they stay true-to-scent during this span.

Cons of Old Factory Candles
  • When I ordered these, I thought they were going to be bigger.  Please keep in mind that these  candles are 2 ounces each.
  •  All the candles are the same color.
  • You cannot pick individual scents, you must purchase an entire theme.  Old Factory should make a set that lets you pick the 3 fragrances.
  • I would love to see some larger jars of the scents that I like.  I'd definitely come back to buy a large jar of the Olive Blossom!
Summary

This was a really cool product to review.  The concept is great.  This is definitely an excellent gift option for a fragrance / candle lover.   I love that they burn evenly, a candle that doesn't is a nightmare.  This company really does a great job of putting these fragrances in a theme.  These candles burn for a long time, and they are great to place anywhere in your house during any time.
