My Review of the Pet Handheld Massaging Mitt

What is it exactly?

     From the website. . .
"Brushing the pet's coat is one of the most important steps in grooming. CLD Brands TM Pet Grooming Glove provides a unique therapeutic grooming experience for your pet. The lightweight mitt contours to the shape of your hand and your pet's body for extra comfort and fit. The tender brush gently removes mats, tangles and loose hairs while exfoliating the skin and stimulating the scalp for a shinier, healthier coat. "

Review…

I was sent a handheld massaging mitt from CLD Brands to review.

The price for this bottle is $10.97.  Shipping is free with Amazon Prime.

Packaging & Presentation of the Pet Handheld Massaging Mitt

This package arrived safely to my house. There were not any issues during shipment.  The mitt wasn't really wrapped, it was stapled to a cardboard tag.  The entire package is  11.5" x 7.0" at its widest points.  The cardboard tag was stapled to the mitt.  The mitt itself if a royal blue with a netting.  The actual massaging part is black.

The front of the tag labels the product.  It specifies that it is made to lift away dirt and loose hair, it is ideal for all coat types, and it can be used on a wet or dry pet.  The back of the tag really doesn't give any further information. but you can find the distributor information.  This product is designed in the USA.

There are a bunch of little plastic soft spikes on the massaging mitt.  These look well-made, and I don't think they'll bend or fall off easily.

I was not impressed that the mitt label was stapled to the mitt.  This kind of made me mad because it left holes in the wrist band.

The wristband itself was kind of cheaply made.  The stitching on my wristband was all crooked, and the velcro wasn't put on right.  Also, the stitching wasn't cut, so I had loose strings hanging out.

My Personal Experience with the Pet Handheld Massaging Mitt

I have a few brushes for the dogs, but I've never used a massaging mitt on a dog.  I figured since they liked getting pet, they would probably enjoy this.

Thankfully, the mitt fit right on my hand.  The sizing is pretty universal, and it fits snugly and nicely for either left or right handed people.  The wristband fastened easily around my wrist.

It's a pretty thin mitt, but that makes it easier to have a little control over it since you lose your finger mobility a little.

My puppy, Markie, didn't like it.  She got scared when she saw it, even if I hid it behind my back and eased into it.  She kept running away and wouldn't have anything to do with it.  Now, Mia, the older dog (she's 2, going on 40) loved it!  If dogs could marry inanimate objects, Mia would be forever happy with this massaging mitt.  No kidding.

The best part?  It really does collect the hair.

Pros of the Pet Handheld Massaging Mitt
  • Fits nicely around my wrist.
  • Easy to use for both left and right handed people.
  • Great color!
  • One of the dogs adored it.
Cons of the Pet Handheld Massaging Mitt
  • The mitt has staple holes in the wristband.
  • The wristband seems like it was pushed through the line without any quality checks.
        Summary

I must say that the fact that Mia loves this massaging mitt is what probably saved it for me.  I must say that I'm not completely happy with it.  It works good, sure, but the quality seems to be lacking.  There would be better ways to package this.  I'd say unless you are really in the market for something like this, I'd save the $10.

I think my dog would be scared of it like Markie was. It's a neat idea, but I know it would weird out my dog.
