..::Product Review::.. Suncam Rite Mitts - Quality Oven Mitts

My Review of the Suncam Rite Mitts

What is it exactly?

     From the website. . .
"All Silver Coating mitts are made with top quality materials with your high standards in focus and we always provides top-notch quality and durability that you can always rely on."

Review…

I was sent a pair of quality oven mitts from Rite Mitts to review.

The price for this pair is $15.95, and it ships free with Amazon Prime.

Packaging & Presentation of the Suncam Rite Mitts

The oven mitts arrived in perfect condition.  There was not any damage, defects, nor issues during shipment.  It measures 15.0" x 8.25" x 1.25" at its widest points.  The package is clear, and there is an informational section stapled on top.

The top is a little strange-- it's one piece of cardboard folded over, so half is upside-down, and the other half is properly faced.  You can still read everything on it, it's just a little awkward.  The front labels the product and brand, and the back provides the customer service email.  These mitts are made in China.

The mitts come in a resealable bag, and I like to use this for storage.  Usually my potholders get pretty nasty sitting inside my shelf.  I like that I can keep these sitting in a little bag (or you can hang them up, and I'll show you that later).

The mitts themselves feel really nice.  One side is a bone color, and there is a massive print on it that.  This print is black and purple and measures 3.5" x 3.5".  I'm not fond of this, it's too large for me.

The other side is silver, and it has a quilt stitch.  The framing color is red, and there is a little cloth loop so you can hang them up.  Each mitt measures 12.0" x 6.5" x 1.0" at its widest points.

There is a tag inside that says, "100% flame retardant cotton, Filling: recyclable cotton".  There are also laundering instructions printed in symbols.

My Personal Experience with the Suncam Rite Mitts

I've only owned one oven mitt in my life, and it is decorated with a ton of owls.  Unfortunately, it's about through with its life, so I'm pretty glad I am able to review the Rite Mitts.  At first thought, these mitts are a lot nicer than my owl one, they seem more higher quality.  Oven mitts can look nice all they want, but the true test comes when I find out if the heat lets through.

So...

I tried them.  My mom made some type of stew, and used what I call my 'burny lid'.  These pots are awesome, but the lids burn the heck out of my hand.  So, I went in to stir the stew, and used the Rite Mitts for the lid.

They work incredibly.  I was able to hold the lid a lot longer than I normally could with a square potholder or a towel.

Like I mentioned earlier, you can store the mitts inside the bag, or you can hang them up.  I have a nice hook in my kitchen (please excuse the hideous wallpaper!), so I can hang them up while I'm cooking, and store them in the bag when I'm done.

Pros of the Suncam Rite Mitts
  • Quality-made.
  • Heat-resistant and flame-retardant.
  • Has sewn in loops for easy hanging.
Cons of the Suncam Rite Mitts
  • I don't care much for the large print on the center of the mitt.  I think it would look great if they had a sewn in label on the side of the mitt, or towards where you place your hand.
        Summary

I'm actually pretty happy with these!  They definitely take the place of my owl mitt that is on its last leg.  These are great for baking, cooking, or anything where you would want to protect your hands.  The hanging loops are convenient, and you can store them in the bag if you choose to do so.  The large print on the front isn't super appealing, but it doesn't affect the usage of these mitts.
