Looking to Remodel Your Bathroom? Read this first!

The word remodeling strikes fear in the heart of pretty much every homeowner out there – and for good reason. A remodeling job can be incredibly expensive and stressful if you’re not careful. 

If you watch my YouTube videos, you know that my parents recently stayed with our family for the past two months.  During this time, my dad remodeled our bathroom.  Let's do a little imaging here.  

Imagine the ugliest bathroom you can think of.  Green carpet (really?), wooden paneling, floral wallpaper, and more. That was my bathroom.  But now it's gorgeous!  I have a little makeup room in the corner, the shower is great, and we have tile finally!

However, sometimes remodeling really is the best thing you can do, especially if you’re trying to sell your home or the bathroom just doesn't fit your needs anymore. When it’s time for a remodel, use these tips to help you get the job done right the first time. 

Hire Good Contractors

When you’re looking for people to work on your bathroom remodeling project you need to get recommendations and check references if you don’t already have somebody good for the job. Otherwise you could end up with a poorly remodeled bathroom that doesn’t fit your needs but still cost you thousands.

Another issue to consider is whether or not you are hiring contractors to remodel bathroom fixtures and vanities. If they’re made of stone, you’ll need to make sure they can adequately do the job or will hire out that work to somebody who can.

What Do You Need?

A major consideration, but one many homeowners don’t take into account early enough, is what they really need out of a remodel. Do you need an extra sink in the bathroom? Do you need more floor space? Do you need a bigger shower or want to add a tub?
