..::Product Reveiw::.. Diet Standards AminoHD 1000 BCAA's

My Review of Diet Standards AminoHD 1000 BCAA

What is it exactly?

     From the website . . .
"Use BCAAs to help build muscle mass.  BCAAs are best taken any time the body has high protein requirements and low whole food intake.  Ideal intake times are: PreWorkout, IntraWorkout, Post-Workout, Between Meals, During Intermittent Fasting, and Before Bed.  You won't wake up after 1-day looking like a juiced up NFL linebacker.  But it just might give you the extra edge to keep and create that lean muscle tissue we're all after."

Review…

Diet Standards recently sent me a bottle of AminoHD 1000 BCAA to test out (450 capsules).

One bottle of this size is priced at $29.95 per bottle.  As per the suggested use, adults should take two (2) AminoHD 1000 capsules between meals, 45 minutes before a workout, and immediately after a workout.  It is also recommended to take some before bed.

Packaging & Presentation

When the box arrived from Diet Standards, I wasn't sure what to expect upon opening.  I was surprised to find a very large bottle that was well labeled, and appealing to look at.  A brochure did not come with it, so I had to go on Amazon to find a little more information about how it works.

Fortunately, the side label included some information that is imperative for use, and why one should take them.  Instead of taking the competitor's product which can contain the following:
  • Gelatin
  • Microcrystalline Cellulose
  • Magnesium Stearate
  • Soybean Oil
  • Glycerin
  • Silica  (Sand!)
  • Soy Lecithin
  • Brown Rice Powder
  • Titanium Dioxide Color
  • Stearic Acid
  • Maltodextrin
  • Silicon Dioxide
  • Talc
  • Copovidone
  • Sucralose
  • Citric Acid
  • Polydextrose
  • Pyridoxine HCL
  • Croscarmellose Sodium
  • Hydroxypropyle Methylcellulose
  • Dicalcium Phosphate
  • Pharmaceutical Glaze  (Look this one up if you are brave!)

Diet Standards ONLY formulates its product with 2 things:  Branch Chain Amino Acids and Vegetable Capsules.  That's it.  No need for all that other garbage!

My Personal Experience with Diet Standards AminoHD 1000 BCAA's

Amino Acids:  L-Leucine, L-Isoleucine, L-Valine

I had a baby in April, so I am trying to get back in shape.  I don't do too many strenuous activities (until 6 months post-op), but I am looking to put on a little more muscle.

I walk and I jog.  That's about it.  Still, it is a workout, so I gave these a shot.  What really makes me happy is that these are manufactured using Vegetarian Capsules.  There are no binders, fillers, additives, preservatives, excipients, artificial ingredients, wheat, yeast, egg, soy, starch, gluten, or sugar.

I haven't jogged in a while, and I know that Amino Acids assist in muscle recovery.  So I jogged.  I took the capsules exactly as the directions insist.  Usually my leg muscles are killers on day 2 post-workout.  I had nowhere near the amount of pain than usual.  I still had some, but it was minuscule.  I've done this 2 times to ensure what I was feeling was correct.

Supplement Facts
Again, I know some of you are concerned about the capsule size.  They are on the smaller side, I'd say a size 00 capsule.  They are pretty standard for supplements.  I took the following picture of one of the capsules, using a standard US dime as reference.

Pros of the AminoHD 1000 BCAA's
  • Muscle Recovery.  I'm not trying to become a body builder, I just want some muscle form through exercise.  These definitely helped after my jogging adventures.
  • The capsules are vegetarian.
  • No additives, no artificial ingredients, nothing but the amino acids and the vegetable cellulose.
  • Capsule size.  They are standard supplement size capsules.
  • This is not a powder to mix, the taste is nonexistent.  They are easily taken with some water.
Cons of the AminoHD 1000 BCAA's
  • This is not necessarily a con, but if you are trying to build muscle mass, it takes a while.  This is pretty standard across the board, and these fall right in line. A lot of patience and ensuring you are taking the proper amount the the BCAA's will work perfectly given time.
  • I cannot find a direct website for Diet Standards.  The only available place to purchase these are through Amazon, which can pose a problem for those of you without an account.  Solution?  Diet Standards should incorporate a website shop that will allow customers to purchase directly through their platform.

Summary

After only a few times of taking the BCAA's, I did notice a difference post-workout.  To be honest, it doesn't take much for me to feel some type of soreness after physical activity.  I always dread the following days where I can barely walk from the pain!  These supplements really, really do work.  For the price, it's well worth the money.

Everybody's body makeup is different, so my results may vary from yours.

Also, keep in mind that you should always ask your doctor before beginning a new supplement, especially if you are currently taking medication for any reason.
