Packaging & Presentation of the SunLabz 13W Portable Solar Charger
The solar charger arrived in perfect condition straight to my doorstep. It came in an interior cardboard flip-top box that protected it from a lot of movement during shipping.
Inside, you will find the actual charging device and a set of instructions. The charger is black and measures 12" x 7" x 0.75" when it is folded. When you fully extend it, it measures approximately 14" long.
The solar charger comes with handy hoops so you can even hang it!
When you unfold the other side, there is a black net that zips up and it allows you to put your device inside for safety while it is charging, so it doesn't hang out. This is also where the actual plug-in part is.
Inside the zipper, you can find the USB cord, and the part where you plug it into. There are (2) ports, so you can essentially charge two devices at the same time.
The included 'manual' is not very informative. It gives you an overview of the product, the contents, and how it works. It also gives you tips about lighting. It doesn't really give any details about how to use it, recommended devices, or anything like that. It's not that hard to figure out, but I like to make sure that I am doing everything according to the manufacturer's recommendations.
This is so awesome! I like the idea of running equipment off of solar power in general, but in my experience, it is so dang expensive. With this product, you are able to charge a bunch of your household devices all by the rays of the sun.

I have a phone with a pretty large battery (the Samsung Galaxy Note 3). I was very interested in how this charger would work for it.
I hooked my phone up to the solar panel, it took about 2 seconds to do that.
After that, I took advantage of the zipped net pouch, and placed my phone inside (it was still plugged in).
With my phone plugged up, I placed the solar charger outside in a sunny spot, and angled it so it gets the most sun possible.
I left it there for the length that it took to take the picture, and I got my phone out to check the charging status. Well, it was immediately charging. How cool! (I circled the charging status in the picture if you wanted to zoom in and see)!
This portable charger is excellent for outdoor use! It comes with everything you need to get started and enjoy the process all the way through. It's really an effective product, and it does exactly what it is supposed to without any problems. Of course, you can't use indoor light because it isn't powerful enough, but you can place it by the window, outside, in your car during travel, etc. This is a great gift either for a friend or for yourself! It's definitely well worth the money.
