My Review of Jamberry Nails

What is it exactly?

     From the website. . .
"The story of Jamberry Nails begins with three sisters who possess distinct personal tastes, but share a love for style. After an expensive afternoon together at the nail salon, Lyndsey, Christy and Keri vowed to find a simpler, more cost effective way to keep their hands looking polished, while still spending time together.
After lots of trial and error, the proprietary nail wraps of Jamberry Nails launched in late 2010. The DIY, at-home application and incredible variety of designs caught on quickly and sales soared. A new era of nail art was born. "

Review…

I was sent a half-sheet of 'Everything Nice', three accent sheets, and a Pedi Pack from Stephanie at Jamberry Nails to review.

One sheet (which includes 18 pieces) is $15.00.  Shipping for me, began at $3.99.

Packaging & Presentation of Jamberry Nails

Jamberry Nails come packaged on a thin sheet of plastic.  The name of the design is located on a sticker on the edge of the plastic.

You cut each sheet in half, so you can use them for both hands.

The nail wraps were packaged very nicely, and they were not bent, ripped, or detached.

My Personal Experience with Jamberry Nails

I love doing manicures.  It's part of my Sunday routine.  Every Sunday I either paint my nails, wrap them, or apply false nails.  It's fun, relaxing, and makes your hands look beautiful and cared for.  Not to mention, it's a lot cheaper than going to the salon!  For this review, I applied the Jamberry Nail wraps on my mom, so I can take some good pictures of the process.  She doesn't do manicures, so this was new to her, and she was very excited about it!

First, I gathered my supplies.  I collected nail polish remover, a cuticle pusher, a nail file, a hair dryer, and cotton balls.

Then, I looked at the canvas.  I painted my mom's nails last week, so the polish is coming off.  Yep, it's time for a new manicure!

Next, I fitted each wrap to her nails.  I went for the wraps that were just a tad bigger than her nail. I pulled the half-wrap off of the plastic with the cuticle pusher.  Be careful to not touch the back of the wrap.  It may not stick right if you do!  I held the wrap up to the hair dryer on low for about 10 seconds (until it was super bendy).

I quickly applied it to her nail, and pushed down with my fingers.  I used the cuticle pusher to make sure the edges get pushed down nicely around the base of the nail.

After that, I cut off the top of the wrap, and filed it down!

When everything is done with that nail, I dried it again to set it.  You need to make sure it bonds with your nail.

...and finally!  It's done!  Look how cute it is!

Pros of Jamberry Nails
  • So many adorable designs!
  • Lasts up to 2 weeks!
  • Much more affordable than a salon manicure.
  • As soon as you apply them, they are done.  No drying time!
  • Fits everybody's nails.
        Cons of Jamberry Nails
        • I haven't found any cons of Jamberry Nails.
              Summary

These were so fun!  Considering I love doing my own nails, I got just as much satisfaction out of doing a manicure for somebody else.  These nails went on nice, clean, and even.  I was really impressed with the application process.  You don't need a ton of time to do these, either (considering you don't have to wait for them to dry!).  I love that there are so many designs that can match with any occasion.  I would definitely buy these again, and I highly recommend them.
