..::Product Review::.. Federico's Car Care Mechanical Tire Gauge

My Review of the Mechanical Tire Gauge

What is it exactly?

     From the website. . .
"SAVE MONEY AT THE PUMP
Everyone knows fuel efficiency can be greatly limited by incorrect tire pressure. Having your tires properly inflated will optimize your fuel economy. Keep more money in your wallet by using this handy tool regularly.

NEW DESIGN
This Mechanical Tire Gauge has a non slip rubber grip and fits well in the hand. Taking care of your vehicle has never been easier and more comfortable.

SAFER DRIVING CONDITIONS
Underinflated tires are one of the leading causes of blowouts. If your pressure is low, too much of the tires surface area comes in contact with the ground, causing heavy friction which puts added stress on your tires, increasing the chance of a blowout. Protect yourself now and keep it inflated at all times.

INCREASE THE LIFE OF YOUR TIRES
Tires are expensive. Save cash by prolonging their life and stop uneven tread wear by always having the correct air pressure for your vehicles specifications."

Review…

I was sent a red and black mechanical tire gauge from Federico's Car Care to review.

The price for this gauge is $17.95, and it ships free with Amazon Prime.

Packaging & Presentation of
the Mechanical Tire Gauge

This mechanical tire gauge arrived safely.  There were no dents, defects, nor issues during shipment with the actual product.  The box was kind of beat up and creased, but this didn't affect the gauge.  The tire gauge is red and black with chrome and white accents.  It measures 4.5" x 2.25" at its widest points.  It was packaged inside of a box, and it is very easy to open, and you can see through to the actual product.

The front of the box labels the product and brand.  The back of the box provides the directions and distributor information.

The plastic easily separated, and allowed me to get the gauge out.

It's probably the coolest tire gauge I have ever seen.

The dial has both lbs/in^2 and kg/cm^2.  The back has some sort of conversion chart.

The entire top part unscrews, but it's also nice because the head swivels so you can get the proper angle.

The red part around the dial is actually rubber, and it is really comfortable to grip and hold.

My Personal Experience with the Mechanical Tire Gauge

If you don't have a tire gauge in your car, I suggest getting one.  I've used mine quite a few times.  I've since replaced that boring one with this incredibly awesome one.  It's so easy to use, and I love the easy readout.

Step 1:  Remove the valve cap.

Step 2:  Push the mechanical tire gauge onto the valve to get a reading.  This is the point where you can rotate the head if for a more desirable angle.

Step 3:  Analyze your reading.  Here, you can see our reading is a little low.  It should be at 60 psi.

Step 4:  Press the Air Bleeder Valve to bring the needle back to zero.

Pros of the Mechanical Tire Gauge
  • Very easy to use.
  • Easy to read.
  • Comfortable to grip and hold.
  • Small enough to keep in your glove box.
Cons of the Mechanical Tire Gauge
  • The packaging was creased and damaged.
          Summary

I've really enjoyed testing this out.  It's my favorite tire gauge!  I love how it looks, how it works, and the fact that you can swivel the head 360º.  I highly recommend this!
